PB Improvement

On Friday night, I ran 31:36 to win the Ipswich Twilight 10k — taking 30 seconds off my PB on a twisty, technical course that never let you settle.

I hadn't raced it before, but I knew from the first kilometre it would be about staying composed and adjusting to the rhythm-breaking corners and short straights.

"I went through halfway in 15:32 feeling strong, and from 3k onwards I was out front on my own, working to hold form and pace as the legs started to go."

The crowd support gave me a boost when it got tough, and it was also awesome to see my training partner and good friend Brandon come second. I genuinely don't think I'd have got near that time without the sessions we've banked together over the past few months.

This was a gritty run, well executed, and one I'm proud of.
